I\'m very pleased with this purchase. My 2-yr-old grandson is obsessed with Thomas & \"choo-choos\" and he loves this. It\'s durable enough for a pre-schooler with enough different items (ship, \"Cranky,\" the bridge, hills)to keep play interesting. The item was well-packed when shipped, so no problems with returns and replacements.
My 3-yr. old grandson loves everything \"Thomas\"...knows the names of all the engines, etc. He has the other 2 types of Thomas railways at his house so I decided to go with the wooden ones for \"Grammy\'s House\". A big hit on Christmas morning and everytime he comes over. This set is especially nice because it includes other characters like \"cranky the crane\". It was easy to set up....I have only one tiny complaint. I do not have a train table so it\'s set up on a board on the floor. The plastic play mat slips around and doesn\'t want to lie flat yet. It would be so much better if the company would put it on a monopoly type board that folds and could open up instead of the plastic mat. It would \"stay-put\" and be much more functional.
This set is fantastic, especially for the price we paid for it. I like how it has several interesting track features, special engines, and a playmat. This will provide hours of entertainment.
Living an 8 hour drive away from my precious grandson, I knew I wouldn\'t be able to attend his third birthday party. I asked him what he\'d like me to send him for his birthday. \"Train tracks!\" was his immediate answer. After I was able to glean a little more infomation from him, I hit the internet to do my usual research. This set was my final selection along with a separate purchase of the main Thomas engine. He LOVES it! My daughter told me that my grandson has spent many happy hours playing with his new train track and all the parts that go with it. I\'m really looking forward to my next trip down there and to join my boy playing with this toy and possibly giving him some new ideas on ways he can use his imagination while doing so.
Clearly I\'m totally pleased with this wonderful item!
The trains have a tough time on tight corners, but Cranky the Crane and Bulstrode the Sodor Barge are great. All pieces fit nicely together and are well made. My son is having a great time putting the pieces together and creating railways for Thomas and his friends.
