User Reviews for Wimmer Ferguson Mind-Shapes
Simple, but nice!
I bought these for my daughter when she was 6 months old. She really didn\'t enjoy them until she (now) became 8 months old. She is just starting to handle the big shapes - they are larger than I thought they\'d be! The patterns and textures seem to intrigue her and they all make a different sound when handled. I bought them so I could have some nice toys to throw in her diaper bag for when we are on-the-go. Because they are so large they end up staying at home, but she still enjoys them there. ;-) I also feel these shapes are a nice change from all the plastic toys that are out there.
Son loves them, but they are coming apart
My 8-month old son really loves the shapes, and he has ever since he got them last Christmas which was six months ago. The pyramid jingles, the ball krinkles, and the cube rattles. He likes the shapes and the sounds. I don\'t think he cares about images very much. His favorite is the ball. We can always get him to smile by krinkling the ball as we move it back and forth in front of his face.
Unfortunately, both the ball and the cube have begun to come apart at the seams. (The pyramid is still intact.) I believe this started about a month or so ago which was only five months after he got them. The ball coming apart is not as bad as the cube because the cube is coming apart between a picture side and the orange side. Therefore, it leaves little pieces of orange in my son\'s crib. This is disappointing because my son really loves this toy, and now he can only play with the pyramid. Now, we just have to decide if it\'s worth buying another set so our son can keep playing with them.
